Brain development can be interrupted or altered by formative childhood experiences. Every child is different. The environment that can cause one to thrive could be the same to cause another to struggle. Environmental assaults, personal make-up and how sensitive one child reads and responds to his environment can range wildly from one end of the spectrum to another.
